Our product labeling meets Health Canada regulations.
Our product information is submitted to Health Canada and is subject to review and audit.
We aim for quality, consistency, and reliability, and strive to use the ISO 9001:2015 standards as guidelines for our operations.
Our products are made in small batches to ensure the highest quality. Every product batch has a unique identifier, and any given batch can be traced to individual batches of ingredients, date produced, end destination, and more.
Materials are sustainably sourced from reputable Canadian suppliers, and are cruelty-free, vegan, and non-GMO.
Our product development team includes a nurse with extensive history in wound care, a biochemist, and more. Product testers include a wide variety of individuals with various skin issues and preferences. Our team is uniquely situated to develop effective, beneficial products to keep your skin clean and moisturized.

Did you know?
Contrary to popular belief, soaps and moisturizers are both considered cosmetics in Canada.
What does this mean? They are subject to the same stringent requirements for ingredients, quality, and labeling that any other cosmetic would be.
Labels must comply with Health Canada regulations, and describe their ingredients as specified by the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Labeling (INCI). INCI names are standardized, but not always user-friendly! This is why you might see "Sodium Palmate" and think "I don't want that on my skin!". But really, that's the INCI standard way of saying "soap made from Palm oil". Or "Sodium Chloride". That's just salt! "Parfum"? That's any added scent, even natural scents!
Take a look next time you pick up a soap or other cosmetic. If the ingredient list sounds too friendly ("sustainably-sourced, organic, unicorn tears") then it's not compliant. If they can't be bothered to comply with labeling regulations, what else is being ignored? Can you trust a product like that?
Your Elegant Essentials follows all cosmetic labeling requirements as specified by Health Canada. We believe that our customers deserve to know what is in our products!
What is soap?
"A substance used for washing or cleaning, consisting of a mixture of sodium or potassium salts of naturally occurring fatty acids. Like detergents, soaps work by surrounding particles of grease or dirt with their molecules, thereby allowing them to be carried away."
By definition, soaps are created by adding a strong alkali to fats. This alkali is most often sodium hydroxide (for solid soaps) or potassium hydroxide (for liquid soaps). In the process, the alkali is completely used up, leaving just saponified fats, ie. soap.
Why should you care?
Soaps are a very distinct thing, and the combination of fats paired with varied processing methods can create very unique products with fantastic properties. Soap making goes back thousands of years (2800BC!) and the fundamentals are the same!
Mass produced products can be great... but they aren't soap! Check the labels next time you pick up a "soap" in the grocery store. Chances are it's called a "beauty bar" or "cleansing bar". The list of ingredients will be long. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but we believe simple is better. Our products contain less than 10 ingredients and are hand made, in traditional fashion but with modern technology and cleanliness! If you are concerned about what goes on your skin, then our products are perfect for you!
How about the environment?
Your Elegant Essentials is committed to doing our part to reduce our footprint on the environment.
Wherever possible, our packaging is recyclable and biodegradable. However, due to hygienic/sanitary considerations, some of our products must be packaged in containers that can be sterilized. We encourage everyone to recycle our used containers responsibly.

GM-oh no!
A GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism or other organism whose genetic makeup has been modified in a laboratory using genetic engineering or transgenic technology. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and virus genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods.
All of our products are made from sustainably-sourced ingredients. They are vegan, cruelty-free, and non-GMO. We believe that nature is our best resource, and the long term effects of GMO products are not well known. We are proud to offer quality products that are made from non-GMO ingredients. When you use Your Elegant Essentials products, you know you are getting high quality, natural products!

A bit about white label cosmetics
Did you know that there are companies that supply generic cosmetic products in bulk for other companies to label and sell as their own? These are called "white label" products. White label products are often made at the lowest possible cost to increase profit margins for resellers. As a result, these products often lack quality control or are inconsistent with such.
Your Elegant Essentials is proud to develop and manufacture our products in-house, including our Ink Kare tattoo aftercare line. We produce in small batches to ensure optimal quality and use ingredients sourced from reputable Canadian suppliers. We take our quality control very seriously, and strive to ensure only top quality products reach you. There are no white label shortcuts here.
